“There is forecast of thunder and light shower towards afternoon or late evening in Delhi tomorrow due to a moisture feed from the Bay of Bengal”, says, Mahesh Palawat, Head of the Meteorological team at Skymet Weather. “This might look a little contradictory, keeping in mind that monsoon is retreating from parts of north and northwest India now, but it is important to understand that this latest development is not related to the monsoon situation in India”, he added.
Tomorrow isolated pockets of Delhi, parts of east Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and south Haryana could experience light showers. Whereas, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan, Punjab and Gujarat will be completely dry and hot. “Conditions are looking favorable for further withdrawal of monsoon from J&K, Rajasthan and Kutch in the next 2 to 3 days”, shares, Samar Chaudhury, another senior forecaster at Skymet. Maximum in west Rajasthan is already hovering around 40 degrees.
Further, easterly winds from the Bay are expected to pull down maximums over Delhi and its adjoining areas in the next 48 hours. Tomorrow Delhi may touch 34 degrees. Day after the mercury level may drop further and settle at 32 degrees Celsius. However, cool nights will now become humid and warm at around 27degrees.
