Heatwave conditions are prevailing over Delhi-NCR for quite some time now. So much so that the temperatures have crossed 45-degree mark.

The Palam Observatory has recorded a maximum temperature of 45.8°C, which happens to be five degrees above the normal limit, likewise Safdurjung Observatory also recorded a high of 43.9°C, which is 3 degrees above the normal. Other areas in the national capital also witnessed day maximums between 44-45 °C.

However, as per weatherman, temperatures are likely to drop significantly during day hours on Saturday. In fact, dust storm and thunderstorm activities are expected over parts of Delhi and NCR region by late evening hours today and tomorrow as well.

Such weather conditions can be attributed to easterly winds that are prevailing over the region. These winds are moist and comparatively cool in nature. Besides this, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over South Punjab and adjoining parts of North Rajasthan.

Live lightning and thunder over Delhi and NCR

According to Skymet Weather, the intensity of these pre-Monsoon rains may increase by tomorrow, bringing some much needed relief to Delhiites. Morning and night hours will remain comfortable.

Therefore, hot and dry weather conditions over Delhi and NCR will take a back seat and subsequently, the pre-Monsoon activities may start over these regions.
