Monsoon has arrived over Mumbai and its suburbs today June 25th. This might be one of the most delayed arrivals of monsoon over Mumbai. This year delay of the monsoon is almost more than 2 weeks. However, despite of all this delay, now rain activities are heavy over Mumbai and suburbs.
Mumbai has recorded 176 mm and Colaba 86 mm, Dahanu recorded 65 mm of rain. Now, the monsoon search has been activated over the West Coast of the country. Moreover, a cyclonic circulation is over Andhra Pradesh at around 5.4 km above sea level. A trough is extending from this cyclonic circulation to coastal areas of Maharashtra. We expect showers with a few heavy spells to continue over Mumbai and adjoining areas during the next 4 to 5 days.
There will be a significant relief from sultry weather conditions. Temperatures will subside leading to pleasant weather conditions. However, severe waterlogging is expected in low-lying areas due to these heavy rains which will be difficult for the residents.
