First it was White Christmas and then on January 07 another stronger spell of snowfall made sure that Shimla maintains its status as the queen of hills. Widespread heavy snowfall was recorded in Shimla and other areas of Himachal Pradesh with the city recording 52 mm of snowfall.
The city looked like no less than a snowy paradise with amazing snowfall. This snowy spell may make a comeback somewhere around mid of this month, let’s have a look back at how amazing the hill station was on January 07, 2017:
Weather Forecast
As for the weather forecast for Shimla, in the coming days, sunny afternoons are likely to make an appearance giving significant relief from the snowy days to tourists and residents.
But icy cold winds will keep the minimums and maximums down. A fresh Western Disturbance is likely around January 14 that will bring back cloudy sky again in Shimla. This system may bring light rain that day. There are also chances of scattered snowfall on 16-17th January as another Western Disturbance approaches the Western Himalayas next week.
