Three digit rains lash Delhi NCR again, showers likely on a reduced note now

Delhi and the NCR region has been seeing some intense rains for the past couple of days. So much so that three digit rains lashed Delhi NCR for the second consecutive day. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Safdarjung observatory recorded 107 mm of rains.

With this, the monthly total rain for Delhi is now at 297.2 mm against the monthly mean of 195.8 mm. Thus, Delhi has already surpassed its monthly mean in just about ten days.

Though the peak rains seem to be over, conditions remain favourable for a few showers today and tomorrow. Rains will be moderate in nature in most regions with the possibility of isolated heavy spells.

These rains have occured on account of a Cyclonic Circulation over Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The Monsoon trough is also running in close proximity of Delhi.

Even after tomorrow, the possibility of some rains cannot be ruled out and passing showers cannot be ruled out throughout the week.
