The Low Pressure Area in the Bay of Bengal yesterday intensified into a well marked low. The system has now moved inland and is currently over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Chhattisgarh region.
With this, the state of Chhattisgarh has seen very good rains with many cities also recording three digit rainfall activity. The north south oriented state saw rains right from Ambikapur to down south in Rajnandgaon.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Bilaspur recorded 136 mm of rains, Raipur 118 mm, Rajnandgaon 110 mm, Durg 68 mm, Mahasamund 49.5 mm, Narayanpur 49 mm, Pendra 41 mm,
Now, both the intensity and spread of rainfall activities will reduce as the system will move towards Madhya Pradesh. However, moderate rains will continue today and tomorrow for the state.
