During the last few days, many parts of the country have been receiving good Monsoon showers. These rains have been attributed to the Monsoon system in the Bay of Bengal. Many places have recorded three-digit rainfall in Maharashtra.

The depression, which was over South Chhattisgarh on September 16, intensified into a deep depression the next day. This system resulted in widespread, moderate to heavy rain at many places of Vidarbha, and Madhya Maharashtra.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Jalna recorded a whopping 139 mm of rainfall, and Buldana received 128 mm rain. Also, Jalgaon observed 116.8 mm rainfall, along with Washim where 105.5 mm rain was witnessed.

At present, the deep depression has once again weakened into a depression and is now lying over North Madhya Maharashtra. The system is expected to move in a westward direction and will give more rain over parts of North Madhya Maharashtra and Southwest Madhya Pradesh. By tomorrow, it will start affecting areas of North Konkan, Saurashtra, Kutch, and Gujarat.
