RAIN FallAfter remaining weak during the first half of September, Monsoon rains have picked up in India in last few days owing to the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. Rainfall gained intensity in the last 24 hours and showered moderate to heavy rain over the West Coast and East India.

The system gave three digit rainfall in last 24 hours over Ratnagiri that received 107 mm of rain, Ela- 120 mm, Karwar – 107 mm, Agumbe – 100.6 mm, Koraput -205 mm, Bhawanipatna a whopping 216 mm of rain.

Low pressure area that has now become a 'well marked low pressure' has organized further, showcasing traits of depression over coastal parts of Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andhra Pradesh. The system is likely to move towards Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra and is likely to give heavy rain there for next couple of days.

Due to the system, good Monsoon rains are expected over West Coast for next few days and the rain is likely to spill over to parts of Northwest plains including Haryana, Punjab and Delhi-NCR.
