Three-digit rainfall continues to lash West Bengal and Northeast India

Monsoon has remained active over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and northeastern states of the country. Therefore, heavy to extremely heavy rains have occurred over these areas. Most of the parts over these states have witnessed a three digit rainfall as well.

As of now, rain intensity is likely to reduce significantly over entire northeastern states and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. However, scattered light rains along with few moderate showers at a few places over the above-mentioned states may continue for next 2 -3 days.

Monsoon has remained active over West Coast particularly over south Konkan & Goa and adjoining areas leading to intense rainfall over Ratnagiri district. Now, rain has also picked up pace over north Konkan & Goa and a few heavy spells over Dahanu, Raigarh and Mumbai are expected in next 24 to 48 hours.
