Not only this, three-digit rainfall has also been occurring over many areas. In fact, in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Harnai recorded a whopping 143 mm of rainfall while Honavar witnessed 137.5 mm of rainfall. Along with this, three-digit rainfall of 104 mm also lashed the Mangalore region.

The reason for these heavy Monsoon rains over these areas is the presence of a trough along the West Coast which is running from Coastal Maharashtra up to Kerala. Not only this, Monsoon surge is also active over these areas resulting in good rainfall activity.

Now, as per weathermen at Skymet, these Monsoon rains will continue over the city for at least the next 24 hours. Not only this, Monsoon will also advance over other parts of West Coast and interior Maharashtra region.
