Southwest Monsoon remains active to vigorous along the West Coast. In fact, heavy to very rains have been lashing Coastal Karnataka and Maharashtra.This is very well evident from the rainfall figures over the entire region.
Keeping the dynamic intensity of Monsoon rainfall in mind, there are places in the country that have recorded more than 100 mm of rainfall. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am, Harnai recorded a good 179 mm of rain followed by Agumbe where 136 mm of rain was received.

As of now, the main reason for these rains can be attributed to the active Monsoon trough all along the West Coast. Also, the moist winds from the Arabian sea have been increasing moisture incursion over these areas.
Heavy rains are expected to continue in the coming days over Coastal Maharashtra and adjoining areas and Karnataka.
