Monsoon is at present vigorous over Goa. Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall has been going on in Goa. This Monsoon season Goa has already recorded 1133 mm of rainfall. This rainfall figure is 279.9 mm above normal.
During last 24 hours, Panaji has recorded 112.9 mm of rain, however, all the 13 observatories of Goa have recorded 100 mm plus rainfall. Check out the rainfall figures across Goa from Tuesday morning 08:30 am to Wednesday morning 08:30 am:
Now we expect that Monsoon will remain active over Karnataka and Konkan & Goa coast. With this, active Monsoon over Goa will continue with moderate to heavy rainfall activity and there will not be any let down in the intensity of rain, at least till July 1.
After July 1 rain intensity will increase over North Goa, but moderate rainfall will continue over Goa for at least another week or so.

During 4 months of Southwest Monsoon, the first two months, i.e. June and July normally receives more than 850 mm of rainfall. This intensity reduces the in the month of August but normal rainfall figures still remain high at 591.6 mm. Then in the last month of Monsoon, significant decrease in rainfall activity is witnessed when normal comes down to 256.3 mm.
Now the month of June has witnessed above normal rainfall and the same trend will continue in July also.
