Three days of bright sunshine expected in North India

Winter sun in Delhi After the Western Disturbance ended giving snow and rain in the hills and plains of North India, the weather has turned bright and sunny in the region. It is for the first time in two weeks that the day temperatures have settled close to normal at many places, helping cold day conditions to abate.

On Wednesday, the Safdarjung Observatory in Delhi recorded 19°C as the day temperature, which is 4 degrees higher than the maximum recorded on Tuesday (14.7°C). Wednesday’s temperature is close to the monthly average of 20.8°C.

Clear skies and bright sun was also observed in entire Punjab on Wednesday. Amritsar recorded 19.8°C as the maximum temperature, while Chandigarh saw the maximum settle at 21.5°C. Patiala and Anandpur Sahib recorded maximums of 20.4°C and 21.7°C, respectively.

Similar temperatures were recorded in another North Indian state, Haryana. For instance, Ambala recorded 20.8°C as the maximum temperature on Wednesday, while Karnal and Kurukshetra saw the day maximum settle at 20.2°C and 20.3°C, respectively.

Deharadun in the foothills of Uttarakhand also recorded a maximum temperature of 21.7°C on Wednesday.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, these temperatures are going to sustain in the region for another 2-3 days as there is no weather system during this period and skies are going to remain clear with ample sunshine. However, the minimums will continue to remain normal or marginally below normal, making the nights a little cold.
