The hills of North India have not been witnessing very good Monsoon spells for the past few days. However, due to the passage of frequent Western Disturbances across the region, some parts have witnessed scattered showers.

The last 24 hours were also similar wherein scattered light rains were seen over parts of Himachal Pradesh as well as Uttarakhand. Isolated areas in Jammu and Kashmir have also witnessed light showers.

Presently, a Western Disturbance is over the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, the axis of Monsoon trough will also shift towards foothills in next 24 hours.

Due to the combined effect of these two systems, rains will increase over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Both Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are expected to witness light to moderate showers. The possibility of a few heavy spells over these regions also cannot be ruled out.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir will witness lesser intensity of rains as compared to Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Not only this, the possibility of landslides over higher reaches of Himachal and Uttarakhand also cannot be ruled out due to heavy showers over some region.
