This is how women in Bundelkhand suffer from water crisis

While the entire country is bearing the brunt of unrelenting drought, somehow women living in these regions are bearing the maximum weight of this drought.

India is in an attempt to overcome one of the severe droughts in the recent history. This severe drought, in turn, is followed by water scarcity. The water levels in various dams have fallen to as low as 2%. The situation is palpable and has forced the people to fetch water far from their homes.

Now the problem is, it is only women who go to fetch water – there are times when women have to wait for four to five hours only to fetch one or two gallons of water. Sometimes they have to walk more than five kilometers daily just meet the basic water needs.
