There have been numerous & successive weather systems that developed in Bay of Bengal in these past few days. These weather systems have given enough rain over the East and Central parts of India till now.
But all the formation of low pressure areas was restricted to Northwest Bay of Bengal which gave the heavy rains over East and Central India but at the same time the Peninsular India remained comparatively dry.
This year hardly any weather system was formed over central and Southern parts of Bay of Bengal and remained calm during most of the Monsoon. Therefore hardly there was any major weather activity seen over Tamil Nadu Coast and Andhra Pradesh coast.
As of now, the low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal is expected to give heavy to very heavy rain over Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand for next 24-48 hours. But this low pressure area is not expected to last for more than 48 hours.
The impact of this weather system will reduce after 2 days over most parts of the country and lesser rainfall will be received due to the abatement of all the major weather systems.
However Northeast India and some parts of East India will continue to receive light rain and some parts will even receive moderate rains but heavy Monsoon type rain will be nowhere to be seen.
