The first depression of the season has developed over the Bay of Bengal and is moving in the west-northwest direction. According to the weather experts of Skymet, the depression will intensify into a deep depression in the next 24 hours period and will continue to move in the western and northwest direction in the same way.

At 5:30 am on October 11, the system was 430 kilometres south-southeast of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh while 490 kilometres south-east from Kakinada. This morning it was 520 kilometres east-southeast from Narasapur in Andhra Pradesh. It will collide between Narasapur and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh in the capacity of a deep depression.

The effects of this depression have already brought thick clouds on the eastern coasts, winds have intensified and rains have also increased. It is estimated that the system will reach the shores of Andhra Pradesh on the evening or night of 12 October. During that time, coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh and north coastal Tamil Nadu, as well as south coastal Odisha, will have gusts of 40 to 50 kmph and moderate to heavy rains will be recorded at many places.

Let us tell you that the three months of the post-monsoon season October-November-December are also known as Cyclone season. That is, there is a possibility of storms in the Bay of Bengal in these three months. This system is not becoming a cyclonic storm because it did not get a chance to stay on the maritime area for long after it has developed and is moving rapidly.

Due to the impact of the depression, rains will be recorded over Andhra Pradesh as well as Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Odisha, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa and Gujarat. The eastern coastal parts will be the most affected and when it reaches the interior areas, rain activities will increase from Telangana to Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka. In East India, some areas of Bihar, Jharkhand and eastern Uttar Pradesh are also likely to receive rain due to this system.
