The state of Gujarat begins to witness hot weather conditions in the month of March itself. This is one pocket which remains devoid of the Pre-Monsoon rains. The reason for this is that the weather systems that affect North India are too far away to cause any significant spell of rains. The moisture incursion from Arabian Sea is also not directly effective over Gujarat.

This time also, the month of March remained dry along with which the first ten days of April also remained rain free. However, traces of rainfall were recorded a day before over some cities of Gujarat. Cities of Kandla, Rajkot and Ahmedabad recorded very light rainfall.

There was some ongoing weather activity over the northern parts of the country which have resulted in a slight drop in the maximum temperatures over the state of Gujarat. Thus, the temperatures which were previously in their lower 40s have come down and are currently hanging around in the late 30s. Thus, heatwave conditions which had gripped many parts of the state have taken a backseat.

Now, the weather has become dry over Northwest India and the wind pattern has also witnessed a change. Thus, temperatures are expected to once again rise over many areas of Gujarat resulting in discomfort for the residents. Weather will remain dry over the entire state of Gujarat.
