Day temperatures over Madhya Pradesh in places like Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior could rise significantly during the next two days. The region has been witnessing below normal day temperatures by 4°C to 6°C in the last two days due to Western Disturbance related clouding and rain. But as the system (WD) is moving out of the region, more sunshine will increase the temperatures.
Bhopal recorded a maximum of 19.7°C (six notches below the normal) while Gwalior recorded 21.1°C (3°C below normal). Indore recorded 22.4°C, four notches below the normal while Jabalpur recorded a maximum of 21.3°C, five notches below the normal.
The other reason which is expected to push the day temperatures up in these parts is the anti-cyclonic circulation which has shifted a little eastward to eastcentral India from Central India. It will stop the northerly to northwesterly winds from affecting the region. This will also lead to rise in night temperatures in these areas during the period. Anti-cyclone is winds moving in a clockwise circulation around a high pressure area in the northern Hemisphere and in an anti-clockwise circulation in the southern Hemisphere
The weather system is already affecting Chhattisgarh where day temperatures are nearing thirties. Once part of Madhya Pradesh, the state is witnessing a bit warmer days as Jagdalpur recorded 29.5°C as the maximum temperature, Bilaspur 28.3°C and Durg 27.8°C while capital Raipur recorded a maximum of 29°C on Sunday.
Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh witnessed 29°C as the maximum temperature on Sunday and it may touch thirties in the next two days. Morning minimums also remained around 15°C in these places which is again relatively warmer than the last two days. Raipur recorded 15.7°C as the minimum temperature on Monday.
