The months of July and august are the core Monsoon months for Delhi in terms of good rainfall activity. In fact, during these months, Delhi remains the rainiest.
Thus, we can say that this time also rains have been spread over a period of time and have already surpassed the normal monthly rainfall of July. The normal monthly rainfall for Delhi’s Safdarjung observatory for July is 187 mm, while for Palam it stands at 174 mm.

As of July 30, both the observatories of Delhi, have surpassed their monthly normal rainfall. In fact, Palam has recorded 238 mm of rain till now, followed by Safdarjung at 286 mm.
Moreover, this year’s rainfall for the month of July is the third largest rainfall recorded for both the observatories i.e. Palam and Safdarjung since past 10 years.
During these months, good rains over Delhi region occur mostly in association with the Monsoon trough which lies in the close proximities or any other weather system formed in the nearby areas in term of circulations or low’s.
In the coming days, we do not expect any activity over the region. Therefore, we can say that due to dry and warm weather conditions, day temperatures are expected to rise.
