Scattered rains occurred over the interior parts of Odisha and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Visakhapatnam recorded rain to the tune of 11 mm, Koraput 5.4 mm, Bhubaneswar and Bhawanipatna 1 mm of rains. These rains can be attributed to the moist winds which are incurring moisture from the Bay of Bengal over both these states.

As per Skymet Weather, isolated rain activities may occur over both these states in the coming 24 to 48 hours. With the decrease in rainfall activity, the temperatures may increase over many parts of Odisha. In fact, in districts, the day maximums might even touch the 40°C mark. Places like Koraput, Bhawanipatna, Sambalpur, Titlagarh and Keonjhargarh in Odisha may witness a rise in temperatures.
Similar weather conditions are expected to prevail in Andhra Pradesh also. The weather across the Interior parts of Andhra Pradesh will be hot and dry. Places like Kurnool, Anantapur, and Cuddappah are likely to reel under uneasy weather conditions
However, after three days i.e. by May 21 or 22, a Low-Pressure area is likely to develop in the Bay of Bengal which is likely to intensify and move towards Andhra Pradesh coast. This weather system would give moderate to heavy showers over coastal Andhra Pradesh on May 24 and 25.
In fact, the wind speed will be between moderate to high and the sea conditions will also be rough. Thus people are advised to be cautious during that time. This system is also expected to affect South Coastal Odisha giving light to moderate pre-Monsoon rains during the same period.
