While the rains have been lashing the Southern Peninsular India with moderate to isolated heavy intensity, almost the entire northwest India is whirling under warm and dry days.
The mercury levels have also shot up to settle above 40 degrees in most parts of Rajasthan and close to this mark in parts of Haryana. While most districts of Punjab and Haryana have also seen the mercury levels scaling up beyond the 35-degree mark.
As per Skymet Weather, an anti-cyclonic circulation has formed over Rajasthan and Gujarat region. And due to the absence of any Western Disturbance, dry winds are prevailing over Delhi and other parts of west and northwest India.

Due to this, moisture incursion from the Arabian Sea and from the Bay of Bengal has reduced resulting in clear sky conditions. This is further leading to direct heating which in turn is resulting in very warm days.
For the next 2-3 days, the daytime high in Rajasthan and West Haryana is expected to remain between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius. While the minimums will remain in the range of 22-24 degrees Celsius.

Punjab and the rest parts of Haryana can also witness a rise in the mercury levels. The daytime high in these two regions can settle between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius. While the night temperature may vary between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius.
Thus, the early morning and night hours are expected to remain pleasant while, afternoons will remain warm. These conditions are expected to continue to prevail in almost the entire northwest India for the next 2-3 days.
