No respite from severe weather in East India as cold day and cold wave conditions continue hamper life in west Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Maximums have dropped in Agra from 15°C on Tuesday to 13.5°C yesterday. The day was very cold in Aligarh and Allahabad as well at 11.8°C and 15.3°C, respectively.
The situation was a shade better in central and eastern part of Uttar Pradesh where the maximums have risen by a couple of degrees. However, the day temperatures in many parts of East India are still way below normal with very marginal changes in Bihar.

Varanasi, Agra and Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh; Satna in Madhya Pradesh; and Daltanganj in Chhattisgarh received traces of rainfall yesterday. A cloud cover over East India is not permitting the temperatures to rise.
Though we had predicted earlier that the weather will improve in Uttar Pradesh, according to latest predictions by Skymet, the situation is not likely to improve as rain is expected in west Uttar Pradesh from the 17th night onwards. The rain belt will gradually shift eastwards and cover Bihar and parts of Madhya Pradesh as well. Rainy weather for the next 4 days will increase chilly conditions in East India.
