Temperature sneak peak during Diwali

Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will experience the first significant spell of winter with the change of wind patterns. The higher reaches of these areas have received fairly widespread rain and snow. Cool and dry north westerly blowing over entire north India including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, will bring down the mercury level. Delhi, which has been witnessing above normal minimum temperatures due to cloud cover, will also get a sigh of relief. Here the minimums will drop and come back to normal, around 15 degrees, by Diwali morning.

The western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh will start moving eastwards during the next 48 hours. An anti-cyclone, establishing over Rajasthan, adjoining Haryana and Madhya Pradesh will bring a sigh of relief on the eve of Diwali with cool temperatures and pleasant weather conditions.

North and east India will maintain near normal temperatures with maximums around 31 degrees. Day temperatures in the north eastern states will be a little lower in the range of 27 to 29 degrees. A shallow fog over Bihar indicates the coming of the winter season.

In south India, scattered clouds over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and coastal Andhra Pradesh will keep sunshine away and may induce rain.Temperatures here will remain near normal. Rest of the country will remain dry and sunny
