Telangana to battle oppressive heat again

Touted as second spell, scorching heat with high day temperatures are all set to make a comeback over Telangana. According to Skymet Weather, maximum temperatures are already showing the rising trend with few places falling under the ambit of heatwave as well.

However, isolated light rain or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out during the afternoon hours but it will not be able to prevent mercury from soaring.

According to weathermen, the state is in the pre-Monsoon season during which whenever the temperatures peak along with the available moisture, thunderclouds form and gives rain. But by this time, day maximums have already soared and hence, it provides only momentary relief.

Earlier last week, presence of Cyclone Roanu in Bay of Bengal had led to pleasant weather conditions over the state. The tropical storm had led to change in the wind pattern from hot and dry westerlies to cool and moist easterlies that had also given some rain over parts of the state.

Now after the passage of the cyclonic storm, northwesterly or westerly winds have once again commenced over Telangana, leading to significant increase in the mercury. According to Skymet Weather, hot weather conditions are likely to prevail over the southern state for next 3-4 days. Thereafter some respite is on cards on account of pre-Monsoon activities.
