The rain intensity over Telangana has decreased during the past 24 hours and mainly light rains along with one or moderate spells were witnessed over the state.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Medak recorded rains to the tune of 21 mm, Adilabad 7 mm, Hyderabad 6 mm, Nizamabad 5 mm and Ramagundam 1 mm.

Prior to this episode, few good spells were observed over Telangana, particularly over the northern districts during the last many days. With the persistent showers, the state coped with the rain surplus, which as on July 16 stands at 32%.

Now, the weatherman at Skymet Weather is of view that rains would further reduce over Telangana for at least the next three to four days. This would be in the wake of the well-marked low pressure area over Odisha that is moving away in the northwest direction.

Nevertheless, there are chances of scattered light rains to carry on over some districts of Telangana. But then, the southern districts of the state are most anticipated to remain more or less dry such as Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar and Ranga Reddy.

The city of Pearls, Hyderabad is expected to settle with isolated light rains and warm and humid weather conditions.
