After a good Monsoon season, October started on a dry note for Telangana. The rain deficiency for the state as on October 15 was as high as 87%. Although isolated light rains have occurred in southern districts of Telangana during the last 24 hours, but most of other districts including Hyderabad remained dry.
According to Skymet Weather, these isolated showers were in account of a trough extending from South Odisha to Tamil Nadu across Andhra Pradesh.
With the system persisting, we expect scattered light rains to continue over southern districts of Telangana for next 24 hours, thereafter weather will once again go dry. The dry and warm winds from north or northeast would once again commence over the state that may increase the day pressure by one to two degree. Hence, weather of Telangana will become very warm and uneasy again, although nights will remain comfortable with minimums around 22°C-23°C.
Telangana receives a fair share of rains in the month of October but rains reduce significantly in the month of November. However, this would not be the case this year, as we do not expect much rains in offing during this month and Telangana would not be able to make up for the rain deficiency.
Southwest Monsoon 2018 ended on a normal note for Telangana with a deficiency of just 2%.
