Since the last few days, intermittent rain and thundershowers are being witnessed in Telangana. In the past 24 hours, Telangana and the city of Hyderabad have recorded good rains which have brought down the rainfall deficiency in the state to 37%.

The average rainfall for Hyderabad in the month of June is 111.2 mm whereas till June 25 the state has recorded 84.3 mm of rains. Yesterday, Hyderabad witnessed 36 mm of rain, while Medak and Ramagundam recorded 17mm and 2 mm of rain, respectively.

In the next five days, Telangana might touch its monthly average as intermittent rain will continue in the region. Meteorologists at Skymet foresee rains picking up pace in the state from June 27. During this period a few good spells are possible in parts of Telangana including the capital city Hyderabad.

A Low-Pressure Area is expected to develop over the east-central Bay of Bengal by the end of this month. This weather system on moving inland will give moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers in Telangana. Thus, good rains are here to stay in Telangana for the coming seven to eight days.

As we all know this year, the Monsoon arrived late, and it reached Telangana with almost a delay of fifteen delays from its usual onset date. This time it hit Telangana around June 21 and since then Hyderabad has been receiving intermittent rain and thundershowers. The fresh spell of rains would help in replenishing the soil moisture and groundwater level in the state.
