At present, a Cyclonic Circulation is over West Central Bay of Bengal off North Andhra Pradesh coast. Under its influence, moderate to heavy rains have occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
We expect these rains to continue in moderate to heavy intensity over many parts of Telangana as well as North coast of Andhra Pradesh for another 24 hours.
Thereafter, the rain intensity will go down but a few good spells are expected to continue over northern districts of Telangana and North coast of Andhra Pradesh. Southern districts of Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh may receive light rains only.
Also, moderate showers are expected over Hyderabad, during the next two to five hours. Thereafter, there will be isolated light rains.
Rain activities are likely to increase once again over these states around August 7 and 8. Until then, Monsoon will remain subdued with on and off light rains and one or two moderate spells. Temperatures may increase marginally after 24 hours, due to decreased rain activities.
At present, Telangana is running rain deficient by 18% whereas Coastal Andhra Pradesh is rain deficient by 10%. The region of Rayalaseema is rain deficient by 29%.
We do not expect much rains over Rayalaseema and weather is expected to remain dry for the next two to three days. However, isolated light rains cannot be ruled out.
