Due to the prevailing strong easterly wave, moderate to heavy rains are continuing over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. During the last 24 hours rains have also occurred over Car Nicobar and moderate rains were experienced over Port Blair. This activity is expected to continue over the area during the next 24 hours.
A trough is presently extending from south of Lakshadweep towards the equator. Due to this, light rain and thundershower activity is expected to continue at a few places over southern parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and many places over Lakshadweep Islands. During the last 24 hours, mostly dry weather conditions prevailed over the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala and a few rains were witnessed over Lakshadweep Islands. Comfortable breezy morning and windy day was observed over Tamil Nadu.
The state of Tamil Nadu will continue to witness windy conditions along the coast. Extreme north Chennai, Tiruvannamalai and Puducherry may receive light rain and thundershower with isolated moderate spells and strong gusty winds during the next 24 hours. As the Cyclonic Storm is moving closer to the coastline, the coastal regions will experience moderate to strong winds. Central parts of Tamil Nadu will however continue with dry weather.
Kerala will experience comfortable morning and warm days. A mainly dry weather with light rainy spells is likely at few places. Lakshadweep may receive scattered light rain activities. Day will be marginally warm.
