Slowly and steadily, Tamil Nadu is inching closer to the onset of the Pre-Monsoon season. Conducive weather conditions are being formed over region which will set the mood for the commencement of the Pre-Monsoon showers.

The low pressure area that is prevailing over Southeast Bay of Bengal, is likely to move towards Southwest Bay of Bengal and Sri Lanka during the next 2-3 days.

Subsequently, it will shift closer to the Indian coast and start giving rain over Tamil Nadu by February 15 and will continue till February 16. However, intensity of rain will be more over southern parts of the state.

This system will be a trigger for ushering in the Pre-Monsoon activity over Tamil Nadu. Pre-Monsoon season starts making its appearance over the state by February end.

According to Skymet Weather, both proximity and passage of the weather systems leave lots of moisture in the air. Moreover, maximum temperatures also settle in the range of low 30s to mid-30s. The combination of high day temperatures and high levels of humidity leads to rain and thundershowers activity.

Presently, Tamil Nadu is witnessing high day temperatures and approaching rainy spell will lead to increase in moisture level in the air. Hence, leading to appropriate atmosphere for the onset of Pre-Monsoon season over the state in coming days.
