Trail of Dense fog continues in Lucknow, Patna, Varanasi

A sudden change in the morning weather conditions were witnessed over most parts of North India including Delhi-NCR in past couple of days. Foggy mornings made a comeback over the national capital after a long gap.

Along with Delhi, many cities in East Uttar Pradesh & Bihar reported visibility between 50 to 100 metre-mark.

Strong winds are blowing over the northwestern plains which has reduced the intensity of fog during day time but early morning hours do witness fog in isolated places.

The tale of dense fog continued over the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. The visibility was again recorded around 100 metres. Other places of the state also observed foggy conditions.

In the eastern parts of the country, moderate to dense fog has been observed such as Gaya recorded visibility today at mere 50 metres visibility, giving it company was Patna where visibility was 100 metres. Ranchi in Jharkhand recorded visibility today at 500 metres. Varanasi joined the gang with visibility around 400 metres.

Palam Airport im Delhi reported dense fog with a very low visibility at a mere 50 metres.

Due to these conditions, at least eleven flights have been delayed flying to and from Delhi. As far as trains are concerned, 36 trains in total are running extremely late.

As the Western Disturbance which was over Jammu and Kashmir has moved away and due to moderate northwesterly winds, fog intensity is expected to reduce significantly over the aforementioned cities, and will not make a comeback for at least 48 hours.

Thus, we can say that the foggy conditions which has been prevailing over the northern plains of the country will reduce, paving way for clear sky conditions.
