The state of Goa has not seen rains for a really long time with for at least two weeks from now. Moreover, the state has only recorded very light rains about twice in the month of November.

However, the last 24 hours have seen some rains for Goa with Mormugao recording 0.2 mm of rains. The last time it received rains was on November 17.

These rains have been attributed to a system in the Southeast Arabian Sea which has intensified into a well marked low pressure area. The system may now intensify into a depression in the next few hours.

The system is expected to move in a northward direction and will soon come abeam Karnataka and Goa coast but will not move close to the coast and will maintain safe distance. Now, moist winds will blow over the Goa coast which will result in some light rains over these areas.

Thus, there may be some light rains in many parts of Goa with even a couple of moderate spells making their appearance today and tomorrow. This could bring in some reduction in the temperatures, and bring in that pleasant weather for the tourists, soaking up some sun and sand in Goa.
