The torrential flood causing rains that had paralyzed the state of Gujarat has thankfully taken a backseat and parts of the state are now just witnessing few light spells. Although the weather of most parts of the state witnessed a dry spell of 4-5 days too soon thereafter, light spells started showing up which has continued in the last 24 hours as well.

Within the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Valsad recorded 13 mm of rains, Okha 9 mm, Ahmedabad 7 mm, Porbandar 5 mm, Kandla 4 mm, Bhuj 4 mm and Surendranagar witnessed 3 mm of rains.

On account of these light showers, the temperatures across parts of the state including Ahmedabad have scaled up once again are settling almost the near normal levels. Furthermore, Skymet Weather predicts that light intensity rains will keep occurring over parts of the state for the next 24 hours.

As per Skymet Weather, the reason for these light spells can be associated with the cyclonic circulation over Northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Kutch region. As per Skymet Weather, this system is predicted to move northwards and hence the rain intensity will reduce over the western parts of the state.

While, as the offshore trough will intensify over the Konkan & Goa coast, it is likely to keep giving rains over parts of East Gujarat. Thus, districts such as Surat, Vadodara, Valsad, and Danges will continue to receive light rains.

However, after 24 hours, rain over the western parts of the state such as over Bhuj, Kandla, Jamnagar, and Okha will reduce further. Ahmedabad will continue to witness warm weather with cloudy sky.
