Most of the districts of the state, particularly, northern parts and Kutch region have been under the influence of dry weather. However, the southern and southeastern districts of Gujarat have relished some on and off Monsoon showers.
The last 24 hours were also rainy for the westernmost state of the country wherein, the southern and southeastern parts of the state mainly lying in Saurashtra and the Gujarat region have recorded some light to isolated moderate spells. Heavy rains at one or two places also occurred during the similar time frame.

Within the span of the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Veraval recorded the most 62.2 mm of heavy rains followed by Surat that recorded 33.4 mm of spells, Bhavnagar 30 mm, Diu 16 mm and Amreli 5 mm of light rains. The capital city Gandhinagar observed 3 mm of rains. On the contrary, Ahmedabad did not record any rainy spells.

As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is seen over North Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining Gujarat. In the wake of this, moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are likely to continue over the southern parts of Gujarat such as Valsad, Surat, and Bhavnagar for another 24 hours. Isolated light rain is anticipated for Ahmedabad and Rajkot during the next 24 hours as well.
Thereafter, this cyclonic circulation is expected to shift southwards leading to a significant decrease in the rains. However, scattered rains will continue over the southern districts of the state for another 2 days.
Henceforth, the entire Gujarat will be under the grip of dry weather once again and the maximums that are at present under the 35-degree mark in South Gujarat and close to the 35-degree mark will rise once again.
