During last 24 hours, Saurashtra and Kutch received very good rain due to the well-marked Low-Pressure area which was persisting across the region. Gujarat region also witnessed light to moderate intensity of rains at many places.

As on August 30, Saurashtra and Kutch is rain surplus by 43 and Gujarat region by 24 percent of rains. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Wednesday, Kandla witnessed heavy rain of 72.8 mm, Nailya 58.2 mm, Dwarka 42.1 mm, Porbandar 36.4 mm of rain. Meanwhile, Veraval recorded 19.1 mm of moderate intensity of rain, Bhuj 12.8 mm and Deesa 12.4 mm of rain. In the same span of time, Amreli recorded light rain of 8 mm, Rajkot 7.2 mm, Ahmedabad 4.2 mm and Surat 2.2 mm of rain.

As per Skymet Weather, rains over Gujarat will reduce significantly as the well-marked Low Pressure is moving away westwards. Though isolated rain activities will continue over the southern districts of the state for the next two days.
Places such as Surat, Bhavnagar, Valsad, and Dang will witness scattered light rains. Ahmedabad, Baroda may also record isolated light rains. Thereafter the entire state will go dry. We do not expect any significant increase in rains over the state during the next week.
