After remaining parched for a long time, Monsoon rains once again revived over the westernmost state of the country, Gujarat. Though these rains mainly benefitted the Saurashtra region along with giving rains over the Gujarat region as well. On the contrary, the districts of Kutch region mainly remained dry.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Amreli recorded good rains of 35 mm, Mahuva 8 mm and Surat witnessed 0.9 mm of light rains. However, Ahmedabad witnessed very light traces of 0.4 mm.
As per Skymet Weather, a trough is extending from North Madhya Maharashtra to the southeast Arabian Sea across interior Karnataka. Moreover, a cyclonic circulation is also persisting over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan.

In the wake of both these weather systems, light to moderate rains at many places over Gujarat region is expected to continue. Though Saurashtra region may receive light rains at one or two places. On the other hand, the weather of Kutch region is expected to remain almost dry.

Moreover, these rains are anticipated to continue for the next 2-3 days. Though the intensity of these rains will vary from place to place. One odd heavy shower cannot be ruled out as well.
Skymet Weather reiterates that the intensity of these showers will be more over South Gujarat in districts such as Bhavnagar, Amreli, Rajkot, Surat, and Vadodara. However, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar may also get to see a short spell of rain.
