The Super Cyclone Kyarr which was over west-central and adjoining east-central & North Arabian Sea has now moved in a west-northwest direction at a speed of 09 kmph, weakening into an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm.

Kyarr at present is over west-central and adjoining east-central and North Arabian Sea, centred near Latitude 19.2°N and Longitude 63.4°E, about 990 km W of Mumbai (Maharashtra), 1010 km ENE of Salalah (Oman) and 500 km ESE of Masirah (Oman). The system is very likely to move in a west-northwest direction till October 30, recurving in a west-southwest direction, moving to Gulf of Aden off south Oman-Yemen coasts during subsequent three days.

By tomorrow morning, Kyarr will weaken into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm, and thereafter into a Severe Cyclonic Storm by October 31. Talking about the Indian mainland, Cyclone Kyarr is still affecting parts of Gujarat in terms of moderate winds.

In fact, during the last 24 hours, scattered light rains have been seen in many parts of Gujarat including Bhavnagar, Surat, Ahmedabad and Vadodara. As per weathermen, on and off light rains may be seen in a few parts of Gujarat for another 24 hours including Veraval, Mahuva, Surat, and Bhavnagar.

Thereafter, the weathger will clear up. It is quite unusual for Gujarat to get rains in the month of October as the month remains almost dry and temperatures shoot up, which is why it is also known as the second summer for Gujarat. However, this year, due to continuous rains, temperatures have remained on the lower side.
