The state of Gujarat usually remains dry during the month of March. However, the temperature changes and fluctuations are significant.

Gujarat is among the hottest pockets of India for the month of March. There are two main factors behind this – a) it is very close to the Tropic of Cancer and b) summers makes an early onset over the state during the month of March on account of hot winds coming from Pakistan.
Going with the trend, the temperatures in the first half of March have remained mostly above normal. The maximum temperatures were in the mid-30s for all the locations including the coastal areas as well.
Last week, there has been very significant weather activity in most parts of the country because of multiple weather systems. The neighboring state of Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh have also experienced significant weather activities. However, Gujarat remained away from all these activities.
The only impact that could be seen on Gujarat weather was the drop in day temperatures. During this time, most of the locations experienced temperatures within normal range.
During the last 24 hours, Ahmedabad recorded 37°C followed by Amreli 36°C, Vadodara 37.5°C, Bhuj 36.2°C, Kandla 35.6°C ,Naliya 31.4°C, Okha 28°C, Porbandar 34.3°C, Rajkot 35°C, Surat 34.8°C.
Moving further, we now expect situation to get even worse. By the fag end of March, mercury may even soar close to 40-degree mark. According to weathermen, no significant weather activity is predicted over Gujarat in the coming days. In fact, the nearby areas would also not see any significant activity.
Thus, the day temperatures will have a tendency to rise sharply, especially in the stations deep in land. The coastal stations will too experience hot and humid weather conditions.
In nutshell, residents of Gujarat must gear up for blazing heat ahead!
