In the last couple of days an active Western Disturbance has given fairly widespread rain and snow over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Now this Western Disturbance will move away after 24 hours, leading to decrease in rains over Western Himalayas.
As the system moves away, skies will start clearing up, which means an end to ongoing cold weather conditions. With this change, day and night temperatures will begin to rise.
The next weather system - Western Disturbance- is going to approach the region by March 9. However, the system will not last for long and the intensity of weather activities will also be mild. Isolated snow and rains will be observed over the higher reaches of the hilly states.
Thereafter, the Western Disturbances will keep decreasing in intensity and have marginal impact over the hills as well as the northern plains. This means that rains will keep fading from the area. So, we can say that Summers are about to approach the region soon.
However, chances of Avalanche cannot be ruled out as of now.
