The city of Mumbai hasn’t recorded any rains in the entire month of February. The weather has been running dry for the last one month.

Meanwhile, the temperatures have been continuously increasing over Mumbai. In fact, Mumbai recorded its second highest maximum of the season at 37.4 degrees. There has been a sudden jump of around five degrees in the span of 24 hours. This can be attributed to the easterly winds blowing over the city until late afternoon.

Earlier, the maximum temperature in Mumbai reached 38.1 degrees on February 17. This was one of the highest Mumbai has recorded in the last one decade.

The hot winds from East are expected to continue for another 48 hours. So, we expect the day temperatures to increase further on February 27. The conditions are very favorable for Mumbai to heat up even further.

These winds will change direction from February 28 and comparatively less hot northerly northeasterly winds will take over. These winds might then drop the maximums over the city.

Now, as Summers are just around the corner, we do not expect the day and night temperatures to witness a significant fall. The minimums will be around 25 degrees and maximums will be around 34 to 36 degrees in the coming days also.

So, we can say that the Winters are over, and Summers are soon setting in over Mumbai and suburbs.
