An easy anchor, Bangalore, is the IT hub of the country and a place where many different kinds of people have traditionally felt at home. This old city has witnessed several transformations and today it is a new world driven by sudden inflow of money. It is full of charm and hardly bothered by its vanished history.
The capital of Karnataka, Bangalore or Bengaluru is located on the Deccan Plateau in the southeastern part of the state. Once fondly called a pensioner's paradise, Bangalore is nicknamed as the Garden City of India. Till the 80’s, Bangalore was referred as the air-conditioned city and was practically a non-fanned station. In fact, Bangalore was once one of the cleanest cities in India but rapid urbanisation in recent years has left its huge population struggling with air pollution and rising temperatures.
The mercury here jumps suddenly after January, summer-like feel starts descending upon the city by the beginning of February and April is the hottest month. The only grace is that, even though it is situated at an elevation of 3000 feet, the station observes good visibility conditions throughout the year. The month of February witnesses very low clouds in the early morning hours but weather clears up by 9 am and good visibility persists throughout the day.
February remains mainly dry with a monthly average of just 8 mm of rainfall. It has not rained in the city for 30 days now and the maximums are hovering in the lower-thirties, while the minimums are settling close to 17°C. With clear sky and no speck of clouds, one can definitely feel the heat particularly in the afternoon hours.
