The inhabitants of Delhi and Noida have been witnessing bad air quality since many past days. However, on Friday the pollution levels touched a new level as soon as the intensity of winds decreased. The air quality has deteriorated to such an extent that now the pollution blanket is visible to the naked eye as well.

Due to the prevalence of light winds and drop in minimum temperatures, Delhi and NCR has been witnessing increased levels of pollution. As per Skymet Weather, an upper air Cyclonic Circulation is over Rajasthan and in next 48 hours, this system would move in northeast direction heading towards Delhi-NCR.

This system would bring in a change in the direction of winds and will then move as south westerlies. However, these winds will be of no good as the wind-speed will not be high which could have helped in lowering down the pollution levels. Whereas, humidity level is expected to rise thus bringing down the minimums. Similar conditions are expected in coming 3-4 days as well.

Thereby, till the end of this month we don't see any relief from the hazardous gases and smoke particles in the atmosphere.

On the contrary, it is expected that around November 1-2, a Western Disturbance will pass over Jammu and Kashmir which might give rains over parts of Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Due to this, the north westerlies might affect Delhi and NCR and could also help in bringing down the pollution level.

But, the festival of light, Deepawali is not far which would again lead to rise in pollution.
