Subdued Monsoon rain in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, light showers in Gujarat

At present, moderate westerly/southwesterly winds are prevailing in most parts of Central India. In the wake of these winds mainly dry weather has prevailed. However, light rain was observed in isolated pockets of Chhattisgarh such as Ambikapur, Bilaspur, and Malanjkhand, during the last 24 hours.

Moreover, a Trough is expected to develop from the Odisha Coast. This system will tilt southwestwards with extending heights, thus enhancing the rainfall activities marginally over South Chhattisgarh. The chances of light to moderate spells cannot be ruled out here during the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, light rain is expected over Southwest Madhya Pradesh and in extreme southeastern parts of Madhya Pradesh at a few places.

Thus, we can say Subdued Monsoon rains are likely in most parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for the next few days.

Another weather system includes a Cyclonic Circulation, extending between 3.1 and 4.5 km over South Gujarat Coast and adjoining area. Thus, scattered light rain with one or two moderate spells may occur over Valsad, Surat, and Mathura, while very light rain is likely in some parts of South Gujarat. However, the Kutch region would remain mainly dry. These activities would be accompanied by strong southeasterly winds. Overall, mainly comfortable weather would prevail, but the afternoon may turn out to be warm in some areas. And the chances of any significant rains are bleak.
