Weather in South India after Cyclone Lehar
The threat posed by Cyclone Lehar, which once sustained wind speeds of more than 150 kmph, is finally over as it made landfall as a deep depression near Machlipatnam and now lies as a weak low level cyclonic circulation over Telangana. In the past 24 hours parts of Andhra Pradesh and coastal Odisha received light rain with Machilipatnam recording the highest at 13 mm. This system will become insignificant in the next 24 hours in terms of rain and cloud cover. The weather in entire peninsular India is coming back to normal now. Day temperature in Hyderabad is back to normal and the maximums in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh is in the range of 30 to 32ºC while minimums are hovering around 22ºC.
There is no significant change in the weather conditions of central India with near normal day and night temperatures. Coastal parts will however, remain fairly hot and humid with maximums between 34 to 36ºC.
