During the last 24 hours, sub-Himalayan West Bengal has received moderate rains at many places. However, central and Gangetic West Bengal has experienced mostly dry and very warm weather.
During the last 24 hours, Asansol recorded 10 mm of rains, while Bankura received 2.4 mm, Darjeeling 2.8 mm, Diamond Harbor 1.8 mm and Digha recorded 0.2 mm rains.
Presently, moist winds are affecting Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and a Western Disturbance is approaching over Western parts of Tibet. In association of this system, sub-Himalayan West Bengal is likely to receive very heavy rain and thundershower activities after 18 to 24 hours. Till, then light to moderate rains would continue.
The central and Gangetic West Bengal would remain dry and very warm as no significant system is in close vicinity of these regions. These weather conditions are likely to prevail during the next two to three days.
The day temperatures over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal are likely to increase while no change in weather pattern is likely over other parts.
These rains would mean an ample supply of water in the state of West Bengal. Also, the groundwater level is likely to revive further especially over the region of sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
Gangetic West Bengal will only receive subdued Monsoon activities.
