The weather in North India will be cloudy and rainy Wednesday onwards as one of the strongest Western Disturbance (WD) of the season is on its way to reach the Western Himalayan region. The weather system would stay in the region till late Thursday during which widespread snowfall and rain will be witnessed in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and in the hills of Uttarakhand.
The weather system will have an associated cyclonic circulation over Madhya Pradesh that would move eastwards. Punjab, Haryana, east Rajasthan, Central and East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will experience rainy and cloudy weather from the night of 8th January.
Other than the Western Disturbance which appeared in the first week of January, the remaining WDs have not caused much rain in the northwest plains till now. But our forecast suggest that the new WD is strong to bring widespread snow in the hills and rain in the plains.
Western Disturbances cause winter rain in India. These weather systems depending on the strength give fair amount of rain and snow in the Himalayan region and northwest plains during their stay. Their passage marks a drop in night temperatures.
So, with the approach of the WD night temperatures would rise from Wednesday and the cold wave conditions in northwest plains would relent a bit. However, day conditions may become colder due to cloudy skies.
