Delhi rains have been playing enough games already. The city is seeing on and off rains making an appearance over the national capital. In fact, heavy rains had occurred over some parts of Delhi during the last 24 hours. Some parts even saw over 50 mm of rains.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Ayanagar recorded a whopping 56 mm of rains, Jafarpur 40 mm, Palam 23.7 mm of rainfall, Pusa 15 mm, Sports Complex 11 mm, Ridge 8 mm and Mungeshpur 4 mm.
At present, the axis of the Monsoon trough is running south of Delhi due to which humid easterly southeasterly winds are blowing over the national capital and its adjoining NCR regions of Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad. Humidity levels at present are also very high.
Thus, while no significant system is affecting Delhi-NCR, as humidity levels are high, they help in the development of thunderclouds Usually, thunderclouds develop in patches and affect a small area, therefore, we can expect rain and thundershower activities over isolated pockets of Delhi and the NCR region for at least next two to three days.
However, the lifespan of these clouds will be short due to which rains will also be short lived and prolonged affair of Delhi rains is not expected for at least some time now.
Meanwhile, sky will not remain cloudy to overcast, therefore occasional sunshine will cause some increase in some temperatures as well.
