Weather in North India is expected to remain cloudy with chances of rain from Wednesday onwards. According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the two weather systems, a Western Disturbance which lies over northeast Afghanistan and adjoining north Pakistan and the cylonic circulation over northwest Rajasthan will come closer to the northwest hills and plains in India and raise the possibility of rain in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It would also give rain in Punjab, Haryana, west and east Rajasthan from 16th to 19th April.
Some showers are also expected in Odisha and Chhattisgarh in east central India as they are observing confluence of two winds, one from the land and the other from the sea. This wind discontinuity is extending from Gangetic West Bengal to Kerala across parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
Due to the confluence of winds some rain is also expected in north interior Karnataka, Telangana and Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh. Kerala and Tamil Nadu in extreme southern peninsula will also observe pre-monsoon rain during this period due to moisture feed from the Indian Ocean.
Meanwhile, day temperatures dropped in East India due to fresh bands of northwesterly winds. Clouds and rain in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours also helped in pullind down the maximums in the region. Day temperatures in Allahabad and Varanasi plummeted by several notches on Monday but they are again expected to rise as there aren't any weather system in sight and winds blowing in these areas are expected to warm up more during the next 48 hours.
