Southwest Monsoon has seen the withdrawal a little later than usual. However, while the withdrawal started eight days later than its usual date, the exit seems to be a speedy affair.
Within one week, we can expect Monsoon to withdraw from the rest of hilly regions of North India, eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
The presence of a Low Pressure Area and its remnant over eastern states may possibly delay the Monsoon a little over Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. However, once the system clears, withdrawal will be seen from there as well.
Maharashtra including Mumbai will see withdrawal within the next few days as rains are not seen and will not appear over these areas. Thus, in a nutshell, while Southwest Monsoon took its own sweet time to begin the withdrawal process, we may see the exit to be in haste and completion to be timely.
